Work obligations made us late to the game, but the 6 beautiful avocets are
STILL here as of 12:30. They were far out in the water when we arrived
around 11:45, and then to our delight, flew over to the shore of the
peninsula, maybe just 15-20 ft from us. We are being respectful, but they
seem very unconcerned with our presence. Beautiful birds! They seem really
comfortable so maybe they'll stick around a while longer.
Also just spotted a beautiful bufflehead floating by, closer inland.
