Good evening birders... If I had ever doubted the importance of available water during a cold snap today that was put to rest for good. We had our first ever Fox Sparrow in our yard, also had a small flock of Cedar Waxwings and about half dozen Bluebirds all about the same time because the water in the bird bath was free flowing. It was fun to watch them all take turns getting a drink... This inspired Steve and I to braved the cold and made the "local" rounds to check out what else we might encounter. Below is what we saw: Dunbar Cave State Park: 80 Canada Geese 16 Mallards Canvasback Pied-Billed Grebe Great Blue Heron Clarksville Marina: 3 Lesser Scaup 1 Kingfisher Lake Taal @ Ft.
