The following is posted on behalf of the Knoxville Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society: The Knoxville Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society is planning a trip to southeastern Arizona for May 7-(14 or 15). I'd like to limit it to 8 people (possibly up to 10) and have 4 so far planning to attend, so there is room for a few more. Some of the birds we hope to see include: Gray Hawk, Scaled Quail, Inca Dove, Elf Owl, Violet-crowned Hummingbird, Elegant Trogon, Arizona Woodpecker, Tropical Kingbird, Mexican Chickadee, Red-faced Warbler, Rufous-winged Sparrow, Hooded Oriole... The trip itinerary can be viewed at http://web.utk.edu/~dtrently/AvianPursuits and click the link to "Upcoming Trips" and then "Arizona". While it will primarily be a birding trip, we will take time to learn to identify other wildlife such as butterflies and dragonflies, plus wildflowers (this spring is expected to be exceptional for wildflowers because of the abundance of rain they've had there this winter. If you are interested, contact me directly and I will send more details.
