Birded the AT yesterday (5/25) from Newfound Gap to Charlie's Bunion and back.
8 miles total.

Black-Throated Blue Warbler - 1 M, 1 F
Black-Throated Green Warbler - 2
Chestnut-Sided Warbler
Red-Breasted Nuthatch - Heard many, saw one.
Winter Wren - Heard many, saw none.
Blue-Headed Vireo - Several
Hermit Thrush - 2.  Watched for about a minute as one of them slayed a
salamander (approx 2.5" long) and then ate it whole.  The entire thing lasted
about two minutes.
Brown Creeper - 2
Black-Capped Chickadee - Many
Golden-Crowned Kinglet - Several
Am. Robin - 1
Dark-Eyed Junco - Abundant & Conspicuous

Notable misses - Red Crossbill, Ruffed Grouse, Common Raven, Canada Warbler,
Peregrine Falcon.  Was really hoping for those first two species, but no luck.
But overall, a great day of birding.
