Last week we found Western Kingbirds nesting at 3 of the 4 known locations
in Memphis. Robert Gooch called and told me he thought he had seen a bird off
of Chelsea and Farmville Road earlier in the week. I searched the area
yesterday afternoon and located a pair near an electric sub-station making
that now
the 5th breeding area in Memphis. How many more are there?

There are two active nests in the McLemore-Trigg area, two in Frayser, at
least 4 off Levee Road. The Scissor-tailed hybrid has not returned to the
firestation on President's Island but the full blooded female Scissor-tail has
paired again at a second location. One hybrid Scissor-tail is again paired with

a Western Kingbird in Frayser.

Good Birding !!!
