Took a quick detour last evening (July 8) in hopes of a glimpse of the Wood
Stork. It was around 7 p.m. CST but was unsuccessful.
Did have other nice views...
Great Blue Herons
Red wing blackbirds
to name the highlights...
Luckily I have seen Wood Storks...
On a historical note concerning Wood Storks (?)..., my friend Ruth McMillan and
I most likely were lucky enough perhaps to view one of the first northern
wayward stragglers in area Georgia did not have these (have to look for my
notes...I recall we were lost but excited to have this sighting so all was
well!) 30 or so years ago and it was such a rarity that she took time to send
in the documentation, etc. then to Georgia birding group)
