Upper Douglas Lake, including--

Dutch Bottoms (DB) (shoreline along Highway 25-E in Cocke Co.);
Rankin Wildlife Management Area (RWMA) (in Cocke Co. at confluence of French Broad River and Nolichuckey River);
Brown Hollow Road (shoreline on Cocke Co. side of Douglas Lake immediately downstream from RWMA);
J.M. Walters Bridge on Highway 25-E (shoreline on Jefferson Co. side of Douglas Lake immediately downstream from Brown Hollow Road)

A group from this past weekend's TOS meeting held in Greeneville, TN spent Sunday morning on upper Douglas Lake. Below are the most notable observations. Totals come from my notes and represent undercounting in some cases as I'm sure I was unable to capture everything seen by everyone.

American White Pelican (Brown Hollow Road);
Double-crested Cormorant (22 Cocke, 2 Jefferson);
Great Blue Heron (20 Cocke, 6 Jefferson);

Black-crowned Night-Heron (RWMA);

Bald Eagle (1 adult and 1 immature at DB);
Killdeer (15 Jefferson, 5 Cocke);
Semipalmated Sandpiper (DB);
Least Sandpiper (23 DB);
Pectoral Sandpiper (DB);
Herring Gull (Brown Hollow Road);
Ring-billed Gull (51 Cocke, 5 Jefferson);
Bonaparte's Gull (DB);
Belted Kingfisher (2 Cocke);
Hairy Woodpecker (Cocke);
Eastern Phoebe (2 Cocke);
Tree Swallow (1200+ Cocke, 39 Jefferson);
Northern Rough-winged Swallow (2 Cocke, 1 Jefferson);
Gray Catbird (DB);
Tennessee Warbler (RWMA);
Black-throated Green Warbler (DB);
Yellow-rumped Warbler (at least 2 RWMA);
Palm Warbler (16 Cocke);
Common Yellowthroat (RWMA);
Rose-breasted Grosbeak (2 Cocke);
Indigo Bunting (Cocke).
