The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is currently considering
changes to the rules governing the MBTA. Having recently reinstated some
critical protections, particularly those regarding incidental take, the
Service is now looking at strengthening additional rules, which if
implemented, would save millions of birds from harm, or death.

The Service is accepting public comments through Friday, December the 3rd.
Comments may be submitted through www.regulations.gov. Enter Migratory Bird
Treaty Act in the search box, for full details. However, many organizations
are providing links to use in submitting comments, such as the National
Audubon Society link: https://act.audubon.org/a/mbta-comment-period?ms=share.
Here you will find more information and prepared comments, which you may
submit as is, or amend as you deem appropriate. Comments submitted will
become part of the public record. Please consider sending comments to make
your opinion known.
