A couple of follow-ups after further review (this Supplement is 19 pages
long). I was trying to work out some changes mentioned for herons
earlier. It seems herons, ibises and spoonbills have been moved from
the order Ciconiiformes to the order Pelecaniformes.

Tropicbirds also get their own order.

Also, correcting my comment on accipiters, the new order contains
New World Vultures, Osprey (which has its own family now), eagles and
all hawks. Caracaras and falcons remain in the order Falconiformes.

So new checklist order goes something like this (each line an order):

Ducks
Chickens
Loons
Grebes
Flamingos
Albatrosses and Petrels
Tropicbirds
Storks
Frigatebirds, Boobies, Cormorants, Anhinga
Pelicans, Herons, Ibises
New World Vultures, Osprey, Hawks
Falcons
Rails and Cranes
Shorebirds, Gulls, Skuas, Auks, etc
Pigeons
Parrots
Cuckoos
Owls
Nightjars
Swifts and Hummingbirds
Trogons
Kingfishers
Woodpeckers
Passerines

Still less confusing than moth taxonomy.

Oh, and my spell checker apparently doesn't like Abert's Towhee.
