Today I birded for a long time at my house(Pretty much all day) I ended up with
a grand total of 39 species. I will only mention the interesting species.
During the morning a Winter Wren flew from the feeder over my head. A little
while later some Purple finches came to my feeders. Then, after I mowed, I went
to the creek were I saw a Hermit Thrush. I got kinda hungry after birding for a
few hours, so I went in and ate. After I ate, I went across the creek to our
field were I saw Song Sparrows, Swamp Sparrows, Field Sparrows, and a few
Savannah Sparrows. It soon got dark, so I started listening for owls. I walked
on towards the road.(Our road is not very busy, maybe 3 cars a day) I heard a
Barred Owl, so I started doing the Barred Owl call, then the Great-Horned, for
I knew they lived in the field, and wouldn't you know, he answered! So I
started doing the Barred, Great-Horned, and Eastern Screech Owl calls one after
another, and the Screech Owl answered too! I had 3 owls within a few minutes!
I had a great time.
