I called a dowitcher a short-billed dowitcher seen at Rankin Bottoms on 4-11-05. This was my best guess in the field. When I saw Michael Sledjeski's report, I saw that he called a dowitcher seen there the day before a short-billed. Since my bird could have been a different bird and I was not 100% sure of its identification, it would be best to call the bird I saw a dowitcher species.
