I continued taking advantage of the cold front and banded at Greenway Farms
this morning. The water had receded to where I could open 7 of my 8 nets. There
was not as much visible activity as there was yesterday, but I still caught a
nice assortment of birds:
Hooded Warbler = 3
Brown Thrasher = 3
Gray Catbird = 2
Wood Thrush (FOS) = 2
Magnolia Warbler = 1
Common Yellowthroat = 1
Eastern Wood-Pewee = 1 (they were the most numerous migrant I was seeing and
hearing out there)
Swainson's Thrush (FOS) = 1
Gray-cheeked Thrush (FOS) = 1
Tufted Titmouse = 1
Northern Cardinal = 1
I also heard a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, which seems very early.
