I saw a Green Heron in the same area as other sightings in Souther
Montgomery County.

I was taking a picture of a pair of ducks on the right side of the road.
Something told me to look left and I saw something that looked like it was part

of the log. I took some pictures, got the binos, looked in sibley's and found
it was a green heron. It stayed there for a couple of minutes , only turning
its head very slowly. I drove off before it could get too agitated at me. It
was about 50-60 feet from me. This was around 1 pm.
I also saw a group of Coots, I counter around 30. They didn't seem to get
agitated.
Saw Ring-necked ducks, probably about 20.
Saw several Great Blue Herons flying about and of course a plethora of Black
Vultures.
No eagle, egret or kingfisher or even hawks that I can recall.
Also, I saw a black bird with white under wing. I was driving and saw it to
my 2 o'clock. It flew from somewhere in the bush/swamp and flew into the
trees on the bluff. Didn't see it again, and by the time I was able to stop
car,
I couldn't find where it went. My recollection it was between the size of a
grackle and a crow. Because of the situation I probably watched it for 1 1/2 to
2 seconds. The underwing was at least half white, not just a little spot,
but I don't remember seeing white anywhere else on the bird. I looked in bird
book and thought it looked like a Magpie. Do we get those around here?
