Hello Birders,
About 9:00 AM today, as I drove to the post office in West Nashville, two
peregrine falcons were perched on top of the Enterprise Rental Car Agency's
tall
sign on Charlotte Pike between 54th Street & Richland Creek. One was there as
I approached and the second flew in just as I got there. This is normally a
place where I see quite a few pigeons, but none were in sight with the
peregrines there.

When I arrived at my house in the Charlotte Park section of West Nashville in
Davidson County about four blocks east of the Cleece's
Ferry-on-the-Cumberland boat ramp around 10 AM, one hairy woodpecker was
working its way up the dead
ash tree in the back yard, and a second hairy was harassing one of my
resident downy woodpeckers on the feeder off the deck. Both hairys were being
quite
vocal with their calls.

Happy birding,

Dee Thompson
Nashville, TN
