Hi Folks,

It's great when you can step out of your kitchen and immediately add
2 more year birds. Even better when you can stand at your kitchen
door and hear 5 warblers and one vireo singing.

Newbies: Black-and-white Warbler and Northern Parula.

Others: Louisiana Waterthrush, Black-throated Green and
Yellow-throated.

The confused meadowlark of 2 days past has moved on to other
(hopefully quieter) pastures.

The Pine Siskins are still here. I've never seen them in April
before, despite living far north of here for several years. A lone
female Purple Finch continues to hang out. American Goldfinch
numbers have increased dramatically the last 3 days.

For those of you (David, Audrey, Allan, Tracey) who have heard me
whine incessantly about birding around here in the winter, well I
guess spring in the Smokies just can't be beat! If only my beloved
Chesapeake and Conowingo were a little closer in January!!!

Good birding.

Charlie
