Hello Dave,

Since you very recently got your player, you are running the latest
stable firmware, So unless you wish to get into trying the daily
builds which may not be so stable, then the issue is probably that the
Rockbox manual hasn't been very helpful as has been seen and noted in
the past.

I don't think it's an issue of having the latest daily build, as these
features have been around for years. I myself never bothered with the
virtual keyboard, as I find it much easier to just edit or rename
folders and files on the computer. There may be some other listers who
can speak up about using the virtual keyboard. All I can recall about
the virtual keyboard is that there are something like 4 rows of
possible choices including letters, numbers, and I believe punctuation
marks such as the period.

Yes, if you did get a daily build, you'd have to generate a new voice
file, and any changes need to be taken into consideration and if the
new voice wasn't generated and you kept the older one, you'd have
wrong menu items being spoken or just having no speech on them. Still,
as I said, running a daily build is unnecessary in this case, as those
features have been around for years, and you *are* running the latest
stable version.

Regards,

Laz
