I didn't specifically unhide anything; just tried setting it up in the 'settings' menu and noticed the troubles. I could not seem to select files to include, or find the option for setting the browser to 'database' instead of 'files'. This, and the Morse thing, might be instances of a poorly-written manual, or 'pilot' error of mine. Whatever its issues, I'm glad to have Rockboxed pleyer; am all about free (as in freedom) software.
