Not a big deal, unless you are usd to going to the run box and typing a drive letter.

I did it, and it is still coming up as Sansa F and so forth.
Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll just leave it as is.

No idea, Rhonda. Just press F2 and rename it to say SANSA CLIPP.
Sometimes it helps to restart the computer.

If she did it correctly, then it should be in the correct USB mode.
Also make sure you're safely removing the player each time you connect
it to the computer, as otherwise corruption may be creeping into the
File Allocation Table which will lead to issues.

Laz

My daughter follow the instructions as you instructed, and as I mentioned
all the rest.
and now...
This is beginning to frustrate me.
Help!

You can always go to where it says Sansa Clip, press the F2 key, and
rename it back to SANSA CLIPP.

The Sansa Clip Plus players should show up as SANSA CLIPP g: or
whatever drive your computer assigned it. Note the spelling of CLIPP,
it has 2 P's while the SANSA CLIPZ has a Z as the last letter in SANSA
CLIPZ.

Laz

That is funny, Bobby!

It must have, as I recall you telling me that you had copied some
files onto the player instead of the microSD card shortly after you
received your player.

It should say something along the lines of SANSA CLIPZ F: or somesuch
drive letter.

Laz

Hi Rhonda,

Ok, then your computer just happened to assign it a different drive
letter
is all. This isnt really a problem unless you consider it a problem
in
which
case, let's hope someone steps up with the instructions for
reassigning
it
to be drive G: instead of H:.

Personally, I wouldn't worry overmuch about it. I've had it where I
was
setting up a player and plugged in my own player to charge at the
same
time,
and my own player's drive letter was switched from F: to H:, so
everytime
I
plugged in my player it came up as drive H: instead of F:. I just
left
it
like that.

Laz

Ok, Rhonda. Do you have any other USB devices connected to your
computer which might have taken the designation of drive G: away
from
the microSD card? If not, I know there's a way to reassign drive
letters to USB devices but have never done this myself. I believe
Alan, a fellow list member, has had to do this, so he might chime
in
and provide the steps. Or anyone else who knows the steps to
reassign
drive letters, please chime in.

Laz

Hi Rhonda,

Do you mean to say that the player and microSD card don't show
up
at all, or are you saying that the player shows up as drive F:
and
the microSD card now shows up as Drive H: instead of G:?

Laz

Now when I connect it meaning the player, to the comp I don't

What is there, is the F and H drive.
What has happened?
