Canaveral iQ Application Management Software Web-enables Catholic Schools'
Testing Process SAN JOSE, Calif.

-- Jan. 27, 2003 -- New Moon Systems Inc. today announced that the Roman
Catholic Diocese of Boise, Idaho, has purchased New Moon Systems Canaveral
iQ Windows-based application deployment and management software to help the
Catholic schools in Idaho automate and manage the state's standardized
test-taking process.

The Diocese saw the need to computerize the once pencil-and-paper based
Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) but lacked the technology to
efficiently run it online. IT decision makers for the Diocese chose
Canaveral iQ to manage the newly web-based ISAT and capture accurate test
results for each individual test taker. The Diocese chose Canaveral iQ for
its ease of use, intelligent functionalities and cost effectiveness.

The ISAT is a multiple-choice test consisting of three sections, each taking
students approximately 90 minutes to complete. This test must be
administered multiple times per year. For example, depending on the needs of
the students and teachers, the ISAT is administered at least twice and
sometimes as many as four times during a typical school year. Thirteen of
the 14 Catholic schools in Idaho administered the ISAT online with Canaveral
iQ, extending the test through terminal services to 1800 students. Before,
when the tests were administered via paper and pencil, all hand-written test
results and student information had to first be interpreted, then
consolidated and manually entered into a central database. This method was
time consuming, costly and did not provide adequate or accurate records of
student data.

New Moon's Canaveral iQ now helps test administrators at each school
location access the ISAT testing software via the Internet. The test
administrators log each student into the system separately, where they take
the test online. When students complete the test, the results and personal
data are distributed back to the student's school via Canaveral iQ. The data
is collected, analyzed and saved for easy access in the future. Teachers
gain direct access to the data to track the progress of their individual
students and better prepare future course material based on the overall
results of the test.

"Canaveral iQ has enabled our administrators to bring secure, online
standardized testing to students throughout the state," said Bob Sobotta,
educational administrator for Idaho Roman Catholic Schools. "With this
solution we can simply and cost-effectively collect the data we need to do a
better job of educating our students."

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise, Idaho, validates New Moon's commitment
to the education market. Canaveral iQ makes central deployment and
management of server-based Windows applications simple, intelligent and cost
effective for IT managers at schools and universities. Education budgets for
technology are tight, but with Canaveral iQ's support for Windows 95 and Mac
platforms, schools save money on operating system upgrades. Canaveral iQ
also helps to extend the life of the computers already in place at schools.
Though IT managers use Canaveral iQ to centrally manage all applications
from the school server, the individual endpoint clients still function like
fully loaded, high performance PCs.
