Citrix Unveils New Certification and Course Offering Focuses on Helping Systems Integrators and Systems Architects Design and Implement Citrix Architectures http://www.citrix.com/press/news/releases/20030224_course.asp FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - February 24, 2003 - Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), a leader in enterprise infrastructure software and services, today announced a new technical certification track, Citrix Certified Integration Architect? (CCIA), and corresponding training course, CTX-6100 Citrix Core Technologies and Architecture. The new architect-level certification allows systems integrators and architects to demonstrate their Citrix product knowledge and competency in designing and implementing Citrix architectures. Responding to demand from customers, Citrix developed the CCIA certification to focus on Citrix-recommended best practices for the design, implementation and integration of Citrix technologies. With the introduction of this certification, Citrix now offers technicians the tools they need to address all five components of an IT project lifecycle - analysis, design, build/test, rollout and support. The CCIA certification provides the methodology and technical expertise required for analysis and design, while allowing technicians to demonstrate knowledge in build/test. As such, the CCIA certification complements the Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA), which provides the administrative skills necessary to support the latter stages in the IT project lifecycle. The CCIA certification, together with the CCEA certification, will help ensure the cost-effective, scalable and timely deployment of Citrix products. Citrix's entry-level certification, Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), is a prerequisite for both the CCEA and CCIA certifications. In conjunction with the announcement, Citrix announced the launch of its first corresponding training course, CTX-6100 Citrix Core Technologies and Architecture. The training course is designed for technicians who are familiar with Citrix products, and Citrix customers and partners seeking to gain greater knowledge of the architectural components and communications within a Citrix environment. "As a Citrix CCEA, CCA and CCI, I understand the value of professional training and certification, and am always looking for ways to improve my IT skills," said Joe Poli, instructor and systems integrator, National Business Group (NBG), a full-service network integration company headquartered in Atlanta, GA. "With the introduction of a course focused on the needs of systems integrators, the foundation has been laid for a valuable new certification from Citrix. I look forward to earning my CCIA and providing my students with this valuable information." Citrix plans to announce additional core courses for the CCIA certification track later this year. Future course materials will focus on: * Citrix® MetaFrame XP? design and integration considerations, including the Windows® operating system, network management, printing, and application integration; * The architectural considerations of Citrix software, including Citrix NFuse® Elite, Citrix NFuse Classic, Citrix Secure Gateway, and the ICA® protocol; and * The project skills required to design, implement and deploy large-scale Citrix solutions. In addition to holding a CCA certification for MetaFrame XP, CCIA candidates will be required to pass two high-stakes exams, one of which will include a hands-on lab assessment, and an approved third-party design exam chosen from a list of exam electives. "Citrix Education is committed to building upon its award-winning program to ensure that our trained and certified technicians gain the skills and expertise they need to further leverage today's core technologies," said Al Monserrat, vice president, worldwide consulting and education services at Citrix. "We're developing the CCIA certification track in direct response to customer demand for a specialized, architect-level certification that will allow technicians to demonstrate a new level of proficiency in the analysis and design phase of implementing Citrix technology into multi-product environments." The CCIA certification will be offered in conjunction with current Citrix technical certifications, including the CCEA and CCA.
