For an Enterprise type environment my clients use active hardware load
balancers like the Cisco Content Director. They have the ability to create a
load balance group and intelligently balance while checking that the server
is up and responding to certain application level calls. For example, it
would "ping" the Web Interface server and check that it can load the login
page, if not, it would take it out of the list.

Subject: [THIN] zone failover..

We learned from iForum that zone failover only works with Program
neighbourhood agent or web clients??

So, I am now designing a globally present and resilient web interface
infrastructure! Ok, for local resilience, I could implement NLB between two
or more web servers. Does anyone have any advice on providing a resilient
IIS presence globally?

I guess the way to do it would be to have different DNS entries on DNS
servers in each region? How would this work if the DNS is replicated
globally?

thanks in advance,

Brian
