Or you can store the WI configuration in the data store (central
configuration instead of local configuration files) meaning that you can
configure the WI from any ASC that has access to an internal Citrix server.

If you are on the actual machine which has WI 4.0 installed, how are you
going through a firewall?

You can not manage the WI on another box, from the Access Suite console on a
different server, firewall or not, must be done locally.
