[THIN] restore XP Metaframe DB when users logged on

Hi,
 
 
is it possible to restore a copy of the Metaframe DB when users are
still logged in if I stop the IMA service on the server containing the
DB ?
 
having issues this morning with our desktop and users unable to connect.
The published desktop has los the connection with our Domain and I cant
seem to add it again
 
restoring the DB seems like the quikest fix, I'm I on the correct tracks
?
