OH

And when you test it with both print servers on line. Make a test
account and have it auto create printers from the old server. Then
remove the printers from the user (in the CMC) and assign him the new
ones.=20

Then log back in as the user and make sure the "old" printers don't show
up. Just the new ones.

Subject: [THIN] replacing imported printserver

Hi group,

I have an NT 4 server holding all my network printers (about 15). This
server also is imported into the Citrix MF XP FR1 farm. Server is quite
important for the environment and the task is to minimise the downtime
for
replacing it with new W2K box. My network consist mostly of legacy
W95/98
clients and I just recently upgraded the PDC to Windows 2000 and AD so I
still run in mixed mode and most of my clients use UNC path to map
printers.

Here is the plan:

Build a W2k server aside, install all the printers and test everything.
Then
quit the domain and shutdown current printserver, give new server old
name
and IP address and let it fly... Anybody accomplished something similar
or
maybe there are better ways to do this? And the last thing: When I
import
printserver in the Citrix farm, is there domain security issues involved
or
it's just a UNC link in the datastore?

Your help is greatly appreciated
