Thanks! I actually went into the old NT server, Server manager and
removed it from domain. Looks like it worked. We'll see. But thanks

Open up AD Users/Computers, go into the Domain Controllers OU and click
delete on the NT box.  When it asks you what the status is, choose the
last option (I believe) which says it's permanently off network and will
never be turned up again.   Everything gets done for you.

Is your domain already in active directory?  If it is, just shut it down
and delete it from Domain Controllers OU.
