We have gone as far as creating a Security Group called "Visio users" and applying it to the Visio exe file. We put users in the group that have purchased licenses. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, March 17, 2005 9:42 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] regulate licenses If publishing a desktop, how do you guys regulate licensing for applications? In other words, let's say that I've got 25 licenses for Visio. I install it on a Terminal Server and 50 people have access to the Terminal Server. From what I've read, technically you need 50 licenses because 50 users can "potentially" use it. Just wondered how most of you handled that. Assuming that Citrix is not installed on top so published apps were not possible. ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: RTO Software TScale TScale provides a cost-effective way to improve performance, capacity and stability for thin-client servers like Citrix MetaFrame or Microsoft Terminal Services running Windows NT, 2000 or 2003. http://www.rtosoft.com/enter.asp?id=296 ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thin.net/links.cfm ThinWiki community - Excellent SBC Search Capabilities! http://www.thinwiki.com *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thin.net/citrixlist.cfm Email Confidentiality Notice: The information contained in this transmission is confidential, proprietary or privileged and may be subject to protection under the law, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
