[THIN] publishing IE from 2000 XP onto NT 4.0 XP not working

Hi all,
I am publishing internet explorer from a 2000 XP server.
This is then being picked up by ica client on an NT 4.0 XP server which is
being used by the users.
Problem is it only functions sometimes and other times it will not start
properly... once it launches correctly once then it is fine for that
session.
To get it to launch properly I launch it once, then I go into the ICA
connection centre using the icon on taskbar and disconnect that session.
Then when I launch it the next time it is fine???
any ideas please
