What version of Outlook? I believe the Outlook 2003 (Office XP), has
some files like JPG blocked by default. We had to edit the registry to
allow Outlook 2003 to open JPG files.

Hope this helps

Try implementing the registry change suggested in Q260151. Although not
directly your problem I have found this to be the cause of several JPEG
related issues. Also have you any policies to disable browser cache. I
saw a similar problem which wouldn't let attachments open in Outlook,
caused by the fact that attachments are saved temporarily into the
browser cache.

Hope that helps.....

                That's a mystery!

I looked in Outlook help under "associate" and it
indicates that Outlook uses the same file associations as the rest of
windows.

Are you sure of the file extension?
