Hi,

If you download a copy of cmptman, (note different versions for NT 4 and
win2k/win2k3) you can use it to set an application compatibility flag
for your application that returns %username% instead of
%ts_computername%. Otherwise, create a key with the name of your
application (less .exe extension) under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\Compatibility\Applications. The app
compat settings are defined in a Flags value (reg_dword), and should be
set to 0x10.

That is unfortunately about the only easy way to handle netbios name
dependent apps in a multi-user environment.

Regards,

Rick

Subject: [THIN] o/t Clientname variable

Hello there,
I think my memory is fading hence this post.
I have an application that relies on the Netbios name of the client. The
application refuses to work with the %clientname% variable and the
software company wont rewrite the application.

Was there ever a util at Jims site that assisted with this issue or has
my memory totally gone ?

or if anyone knows a way round the problem
