[THIN] Re: opening a word document

There is more to the associations then just the extension.  Click on the
advanced button.  You can set up your association to open, create new or
even print.  If this is the problem you should be able to run the Office
repair utility and it should set all these settings back to the default.

Nothing in the event log.

The file association is fine because if I click on a word 
doc or a Excel file the application starts.  But does not 
bring up the doc or xls  it comes up blank.  Then I hit 
file and open the doc or the xls and it works fine.
