You just need to update the DSN's on the servers. We did this last month.

Subject: [THIN] moving a sql database

I have a datastore on a ms sql 2000 server. I am wanting to build a new
server to replace this one. How can I move the sql database from one server
to the other and keep the XP boxes connected to it. any suggestions?

Thanks,
