easy enough doug, only one major accident but that only accounted for one hip. the rest were (american) football ( knees, hip, neck, and a few ribs) and basketball (ankle, knees, and a pinky finger). I'm almost the bionic man.......

Jim, Congrats my friend! I'm so happy for you. I was more than happy
to see you and now I guess you "wife" at iForum! I wish you the best!
This is just awesome news! Congrats!

Philip / Neil / anyone else who cares to listen:

Thanks for the comedy. I just spent the last 10 minutes reading the
thread and I was ROTFLMAO. :)

But serious, relax a bit and let's all get along. What I want to know
if how do you break so many bones? I hope you did not have some
terrible accident. I broke my collar bone once and man that hurt.

To the guy who recommended Jim to remove Philip, relax man... don't get
so uptight about things. I found this thread funny and I actually took
a break from working to read it. It can be said that it made my day.
So, relax buddy and don't ask for someone to have something bad happen
to them. That is just negative thinking. :)

OK, thanks for the fun reading. Sorry to everyone for the spam! I enjoy it! :)

I'm with Mr. Walley on this one. Some of you guys have been very quick
to make ignorant judgments. It would be disgusting if Jim were to ban
him from this list as a result of the iForum thread exchanges. Let it
go guys, and maybe even offer Philip an apology. My .02.

disgusting? LOL. wow, different worlds. For someone to make a ordeal

out

of a statement about walking is more disgusting then me taking up for
myself. This neil fellow attacked my point of view and I had enough of
it. Have you ever seen me say anything close to this to anyone at
anytime? no. to suggest that I be removed because of this is ludicrous.

Jim, may I suggest that whoever this Walley is, that he be removed

from

the Thin List and not allowed to post. This behaviour is absolutely
disgusting and should not be tolerated at all.

screw it, i can't let this one go. you know neil, not everyone is as well off as you, evidently. after having gone through 2 knee

surgeries,

had an ankle rebuilt, broken my neck, and fractured both my hips, I do

find it tough to walk after 3 days of non stop going. I don't go to

the

gym and I don't give it a second thought. I do get out and walk and it's by the lord's mercy that i can. so screw you you arrogant british

wanker.

well let me state this a little better and i'll stop, if the only thing i did was walk once or twice to the convention, then

it is not

an issue.
This was Vegas, you walk everywhere and you do it a lot.

OK, so with that in mind, how is an extra half a mile significant?

As i
said, i covered 50 miles in sandles. My ankles hurt so bad by day three I was looking for a cortisone shot. :)

Now, enough said, you are looking at it as 1 mile, I am

looking at it

as mile 45, big difference.

So some journeys were longer by a half a mile, I'm still not

getting it?

If you're doing a lot of walking, how is an *extra* half a mile an imposition? I get that it mounts up and it's cumulative, but

it's just

another half mile on an existing walk.

I've been to plenty of conventions and walked a fair amount, and walking an extra half-mile to the hotel would seem

negligible. I mean

how long does it take to walk half a mile? Average walking

speed is 3-4

mpg - so even working on the low side - 3 mph, that's a mile in 20 minutes, half a mile in ten minutes - so an extra 10 minutes

each way?

Is that what we're talking about, and that's a problem?

Do you go to a gym? Would you think twice about running on a

treadmill,

playing squash, cycling, lifting weights, swimming?

Neil
