OK, so with that in mind, how is an extra half a mile significant?

So some journeys were longer by a half a mile, I'm still not getting it?

If you're doing a lot of walking, how is an *extra* half a mile an
imposition? I get that it mounts up and it's cumulative, but it's just
another half mile on an existing walk.

I've been to plenty of conventions and walked a fair amount, and walking
an extra half-mile to the hotel would seem negligible. I mean how long
does it take to walk half a mile? Average walking speed is 3-4 mpg - so
even working on the low side - 3 mph, that's a mile in 20 minutes, half
a mile in ten minutes - so an extra 10 minutes each way?

Is that what we're talking about, and that's a problem?

Do you go to a gym? Would you think twice about running on a treadmill,
playing squash, cycling, lifting weights, swimming?

Neil
