I think this was in the AstraZeneca case study presentation. It's available to download from iforumedinburgh.com now if you were at Iforum, but I think the gist of it was: On each server have a %tsepath% variable defined that points to a local file server. In the users TS Profile path have something like %tsepath%\%username% Then you have to override the default homedrive option. In Windows 2000 this is in: HKCU\Environment\HOMEDRIVE HKCU\Environment\HOMEPATH In Windows 2003 it in a policy setting: TS User Home Directory. I think I have got this right. Even looking through the presentation it's still hazy for me and I was there! Hope this helps. This bloke mentioned to him that logon performance into TS can be greatly improved by doing something clever with the homedrive mapping at logon. The details I've been given are quite hazy, but it went something along the lines of... when a user logs in, TS uses the users homedrive to store some temp files during logon. I suspect the temp dirs being written to are windows/system. This chap recommended redirecting the server to a local area for the duration of the logon process to stop the transfer of files to homedrives over WAN links. Can anyone provide any further info on this practice, or indeed recognise what I am describing. thanks in advance, Brian ============================================================================ == This message is for the sole use of the intended recipient.
