...And I suppose someone should mention the reverse approach instead. You
could put Citrix for UNIX on the UNIX server instead of using X and the
emulator.

Hi,

X11 doesn't have any problems on a multi-user machine, provided each
user has their own unique display id, eg server:display_id_number

That part's pretty easy.

What you have to remember is that it's the remote system initiating a
X11 server on the user's display id.

So running a second session, from a different remote host to the same
server:display "ought" to work, though how easy it is depends on how the
session is initiated.

I haven't played with a current version of Exceed, though I remember one
customer where I had to do a binary patch of a configuration file for
Exceed v6 to handle multiple display numbers on a TS system for an X11
connection to an old VMS GPS tacking system. Should be a lot easier now
'cause from V7 on Exceed was TS aware.

Rick

Subject: [THIN] emulators

Hi all,

Anyone got any experience of running emulators over citrix; in
particular Hummingbird. I have been tasked with providing access to two
simultaeous connections during a single citrix session via a 2k
metaframe XP citrix server to several backend mainframe apps. he
preferred method of connection is to use Hummingbird Exceed. I am
encountering a number of issues. I can have multiple instances of
emulator 1 running for several users, and multiple instances of emulator
2 running but not the two in the same session for the same user on the
same server. ports ?

I know it is not strictly citrix but there must be someone here who has
encountered emulation issues i the past.

Thanks

Elliot
