Answering my own message here, he found the solution this morning, in case
anyone needs it:

"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-tcp"
VALUENAME "fAutoClientLpts"
VALUEON NUMERIC 1
VALUEOFF NUMERIC 0

Set it via powershell and that's that.  Have a good weekend all!
