Check out this command line tool to do it...

You can fire this in a script.

On W2K3, I just put this in the scheduler for about 3am daily:

"K:\WINDOWS\system32\defrag.exe C:"

It takes care of it quite well, and I don't have to worry about it or
try to figure out if it is doing any good.

We don't defrag at all but I have often wondered how much of a
difference it really makes.

Subject: [THIN] defrag question

Hi all,

I would like to have your opinion on this one! What do you think of
the
defrag tool in windows 2k-2k3
Do you think it still worth defragmenting HD nowadays althought
Controlers and HD are very fast and have cache?
Are you guys defrag systematically all your server harddrive?
