ähm - don't know if this works for you
but we are using a simple *.cmd ~ batchfile which looks like this:
net use <drive>: \\<Server>\share
START <drive>:\path\to\program.exe
(just publish the *.cmd like the wrapper script)
quite simple but effective ;)
