The local default user hive is located at C:\Documents and Settings\Default
User\ntuser.dat. It's not the same thing as the HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT branch.

I thought users logging in get a copy of the local default user profile, to
which the flex profiles settings are added. The session profile must surely
come from somewhere.

HKUsers\.Default is the default profile the system uses when no one is logged
into the console... It is not the same as and does not affect the Default User
profile (ntuser.dat).

Would setting the permission in a GPO on HKUsers\.Default not work?

(Okay, I'll admit, it's a guess :) )

Hey Flexops guru's.. I've got a question for yah.....

How does one transport the permissions of registry keys in HKCU via the flexops
proflwiz tool? We have the scenario where certain keys are permissioned as
read only for the user??

thanks in advance,
