Hi Jon,

This is usually due to folder redirection being enabled, and the drive
and/or folders not present.

Have a look at your values under
"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell
Folders".

I always ensure that my "deployment" accounts have folder redirection
turned off to avoid these issues.

Cheers.

 Kind regards,

 Jeremy Saunders

hello. I am trying to install mcafee virus scan enterprise v8.0i on
my presentation servers. (windows 2003 & ps 4.5) they happen to be
vm's on ESX 3.0.2. in AD we are mapping our home drives to H: (not ts
home drives just regular home drives)

when I logon to the console of these vms as the local admin (no H:
drive) and try to install mcafee I get an error message saying invalid
drive H: 1327. if I do a subst H: c: then try the install I get past
that part but then the install fails and says that the path is too
long (H: program files)

if I logon as a domain user with admin rights to the console of the
server I get much further in the install process but then it fails and
says that it can't start the service???
