Assuming you are on Windows 2000, yes. But there is no GUI way to do it.
You have to script it or use registry editor. Associations are store in
HKCR which is the merge of HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes and HKCU\Software\Classes.
If there is an entry in both, the entry in HKCU\Sofware\Classes is used. So
you can override the server wide setting for a file type by placing entries
in HKCU\Software\Classes for the users you want to override.

Subject: [THIN] app assoications

Hi All,

Is there are way, that I can have users on the same server that have
different associations to the same app..

Example,

Visio is installed onto the server and so is the visio plug in for IE. We
want most users to have the association so that when they click a visio doc
and IE opens and displays the document, but we want certain users to be
able to click a visio doc and visio opens...(obviously different
association there)

is this possible.

Thanks

Daniel.
