From: gareese@xxxxxxxxx To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Worth mentioning that Web Interface 5.4 is going to remain supported into XenDesktop 7.x for those of you that don't want to move to storefront yet. Storefront does have many advantages though. i would not dismiss it without understanding those first. I know folders support in Storefront is coming in the next release, plus a few other things people have been asking for. Citrix is taking customer feedback very seriously and the things people are asking for are being added to the products. Just saw a presentation on this yesterday. Unfortunately, I can't share the details with you. What I can share is that a 6 month release cycle is the goal, and all the features they took out with 7.0 are coming back. Plus some new ones. These are two different session types and cannot be shared. You can run published applications within the published desktop (which makes more sense). If you're looking for PNAgent, you will need to to use the "Enterprise" version of the client. Also known and the "Legacy" client. Thanks for your replies... might roll back to ICA client 12.1 or something.... haha, I love going forward 5 steps, only to go back 3... :) scanjam From: webster@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: XA 6.5 with Receiver 4.1 for Start Menu Shortcut management? There are a LOT of people still using Web Interface because for many large enterprises, SF is just not ready to leave the minor leagues yet. Plus, they still like icons on the desktop. I was hoping to have XenApp 6.5 with Receiver 4.1. Receiver 4.1 is slow as hell, takes forever to open, forever to login, forever to publish shortcuts. Is this the best way to manage start menu shortucts for XenApp 6.5? Ive gone through all the optimisations for storefront 2.1 on Windows 2008 r2, and its still sucks. All we want is a PNAgent like shortcut management for the start menu, thats speedy and quick. Whats everyone else doing these days? scanjam! :)
