Some of the DBA's have taken a liking to use TS instead of VNC as their formal remote access tool of choice. Because so many like to connect at once they have switched TS to application mode instead of the default Admininstration mode so more of them can work on db issues at the same time on any given box. As this is an MS SQL server which is very busy at the moment with the job of being a db would it not be taking too many resources to run this is Application mode? Even if only 2 or 3 are working as well wouldn't the OS make subtle changes to the system making it more optimized to be a TS server when switching to application mode and therefore less resources leftover to perform the db functions?
