Word cannot load the e-mail envelopeCouple of thoughts. You have probably tried
them but i thought id ask.
Have you seen the Office 2000 version suggested by MS ?

If you create a new user from scratch can you generate the problem ?
Do you use folder redirection ?
What happens if you take an affected user and (make sure you back up first)
cleared their application data folder and any other redirected folders.
Have you tried creating their profile from scratch ?
Does the issue occur on only one of your servers or happens on all ?
Contact MS and ask for a fix. Office 2003 is current.

Anyone seen this before? You'll get it if you try to click "e-mail" in
the standard tool bar of an office app (or other applications with similar
function), or coosing mail recipient in the "send to" menu.
MS says this:

I checked some users having this problem and they have no com add-in's
installed. I'm not sure what else to check. The option of "starting outlook"
is not good for the way these people use Citrix. It appears that MS never
intends to fix it based on this KB article.
Any suggestions on what else to try? It only effects some users and not all
users, which is unusual.
