Thought I'd ask if anybody has seen this... Office 2000 Word and Excel (service pack irrelevant - more on that later), mainly appear to hang when accessed as published apps through NFuse (using the Java client, as an embedded application). By "hang" I mean the application interface doesn't appear to complete - not all aspects of the gui / menus seem to construct. *Occasionally* it may result in high CPU consumption by winword - but I've not seen this with excel. The session will still respond (unless in the rare occurrences that winword consumes CPU resources), so I can do a ctrl-F1 and choose logout. Doesn't occur if I access the application through PN, or any other use of the published app, just NFuse, using the Java client as an embedded app. Occurs regardless of client machine / OS (ie I see it happening when accessed from a Windows 2000 professional desktop / IE, and Mac OS and IE). It doesn't seem to be a factor of the Office installation on the terminal server - because it occurs on a development server running SP3 of Office 2000, SP3 of Windows 2000, and SP2 of Metaframe XP, or on production servers running SP2 of Office 2000, SP2 of Windows 2000, and SP1 of Metaframe XP. The account used for the session (heavily policied, and using a mandatory profile) works fine if I access a published desktop through the same NFuse route (ie Java client, embedded), word and excel behave quite happily then (ie within the published desktop). If I use the same account to access the apps individually using PN I have no problems either. Just appears to be an issue with word or excel published through this environment, using NFuse. The version of the browser seems moot, as does the client OS, as it occurs across platform (ie either on W2K professional desktop running IE, or on Mac desktop running IE). I don't easily have an easier option on the type of deployment of the app (ie Java client) because of the Mac desktop, and not wanting to have the requirement of a locally installed ICA client. BTW, the Java client version is the latest (the one ending in 1298). Anyone seen such weirdness?
