What's the word for those phrases that rhyme? ;-)

I'll give it a go. How wrong can it go?

That's the funny thing - I did look as to whether I
script it, or had done in the past. But no dice.

I did check my normal desktop machine, too - 'cos I have
it set (can't remember if I'd set it explicitly, or it's a default).
Like you, I found it odd that I didn't see anything for it. I had
remembered that in recent years I had set it via GPO, though.

I've just had a look at a test user session, and looked
at the registry hive that I believe sets this through GPO. And for the
user, here's what's set:-

HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\Options\vpref\AutoRecov
er_192_8

Data: 0x5 (GPO sets it to 5 minutes, from memory)

                Type: REG_DWORD

                HTH

setting?

Hmmm. Thanks for that Neil. Unfortunately that
value doesn't exist in my registry, even after setting the timeout
manually within Word.

                        Very odd.

time setting?

Does anyone know where in the registry
the Word 2000 AutoRecover time interval is stored? I want to script a
change for all users but haven't been able to find the key yet.

Looking at the ADM file, looks like it
should be:-

HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\Options\AutoRecover_192
_8

quite possibly you'd need to have the
BackGroundSave value set, too.
