Hi Rick, 2%to3% per user is a phenomenonal amount when you have 30 users = (mandatory profiles) in an Ict suite logging on, 10 users in an admin area who are generally already connected using a part of the SERVER RAM, and upto = another 30 users (out of a potential 96, all using mandatory profiles) trying to = log on simultaneously! No joke, the whole network grinds to a halt. We have = a load balanced farm of 3 Citrix XPe servers. Thanks though, will take up your suggestions re using filemon and regmon = to produce a case for additional domain controllers - do you think that by spreading the authentication between DCs will help in reducing the = overall network load at this peak period? Hi Shyam, The 2%-3% is a typo, right? Cause I sure wouldn't be complaining about that ;-) Seriously, there are any number of things including Lexmark printer = drivers (lexdrvin.exe) and printer autocreation of lots of client printers that = can give you a severe hit at login. The first things I'd do is select connect main client printer only, and = then run filemon and regmon against a login session (with no other users on = the server except administrator). As well as being an eye opener (like how = does it manage to work at all) you'll probably get a pretty good clue as to what's going on.
