Thank you, Claudio I've looked at the 2X site while researching a DOS client
for TS

Right now I use old PCs ,DOS clients and MF XP.

Looking at using rdp and Windows TS our environment is simple, published
desktop, limited printing, no Outlook etc. These are production shop floor
Thins.

The best way in this case would be to connect from RDesktop to a load balancer
(HW or SW ones like F5's or 2X LoadBalancer).

And for your desktop approach, by far the best is to deploy a Thin Client type
OS on the PCs.

Turn on the PCs, they load this OS and after the user types in his
username/password he sees the TS desktop right there. If he closes the session,
he is back to the initial Linux login screen.

Thinstation, PXES, etc all do this. 2X ThinClient server went way ahead and
added a nice web management interface, a SQL back end and the capability to
deploy such OS not to PCs only but to real ThinClients as well (like Wyse, HP,
Neoware etc) so you can manage everything from one single product/interface.

If a want to connect to Windows TS using desktop from the command line is there
a way to load balance? Or do I have designate a server.

Also any Linux gurus out there to help me with starting up X with rdesktop
running once the program is exited (rdesktop logs off) or the servers go down
for maintenance. Ideally I'd like them to just keep trying until they can
connect.

It's a bug of some sort, not necessarily with the CMC. If you stop and restart
the IMA Service on the affected server (the server where the users are
appearing multiple times) it will report back to the CMC correctly.

It happens on MF XP 1.0 FR3 /SP3 too. I think it's a bug of some sort in the
CMC. They have the same session ID on the same server running the same
published app (no session sharing). Having the same session ID in this case
should be impossible. Also logging off one of the two sessions, logs off both
sessions.

I have seen this happen randomly since the Metaframe 1.0 days - and it

(WinFrame probably would have done it to, but there was no console)

I just don't let it bug me anymore.
