Hi Malcolm, This is an FR3 feature. If you delete the Citrix Folder under All Users\Startmenu then the installer will kick in. This is described in Citrix Technote CTX102844.=20 You've got a number of options. 1. The easiest one is to put the Citrix folder back and set access permissions on it so no non-admins have access to the folder. 2. There is a registry hack that is supposed to fix the problem (stops MSI installed checkingfor the presence of the Citrix folder, posted in the thin.net) but doesn't seem to work for us, and I haven't had time to find out why. 3. Modifiy the FR3 installation. Download the FR3 transform, disable_installer_w2k_en.mst (see Citrix Technote CTX102844 and copy it to a directory on the server. Then install Feature Release 3 by typing the following at a command prompt (one line): msiexec /t disable_installer_w2k_en.mst /i <CDROOT>\MetaFrame\W2K\MFXP001.msi Regards, Rick Ulrich Mack Volante Systems 18 Heussler Terrace, Milton 4064=20 Queensland, Australia tel +61 7 32467704 rmack@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of BRUTON, Malcolm, FM Sent: Friday, 7 May 2004 1:29 AM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Windows Installer Hello I have just find an issue running internet explorer via ICA. Whenever an admin user starts IE when connected to a fulldesktop (using ICA) it will automatically start the windows installer and try and repair the FR3 installation. Strange thing is if we connect to full desktop via RDP and run up IE it behaves normally. I have already looked at CTX102761 and am already doing the registry fix for this. (without the reg fix when you logged onto server console it used to try and repair). Anybody seen this or got any ideas? Only thing I can think is our latest round of hotfixes both MS and Citrix has caused a few glitches.
