Along these lines, anyone know what happens if:
You have users who have roaming profiles, but certain folders (Application
Data comes to mind) have not been redirected. You choose to add Application
Data Redirection to your GPO. Does the existing Application Data directory
get copied over automatically, or would I have to script it?
I know I could try it our on a test system, but I'm sure someone else
already knows...

I try to direct as much garbage to of the profiles as possible. If you =
can keep them under 1.5 mb they will load nice and fast. Temporary =
Internet Files, Cookies, Favorites etc can all be directed out of the =
profile and to the home directory or somewhere else. It would be nice =
if the GPO that has folder redirection in it had more stuff to be =
redirected in it.

Thanks, that is helpful. I also hate the My Docs going to that =
location.
I guess, we will just keeping doing things as we are.
Just have to look harder for the user's ini files, rather than just
searching the Home Directory Share.

The profile is EVERYTHING else.... Like the entire HKEY CURRENT USER at
first. Then application settings (from 32 bit apps like MS office)
unless you use folder redirection....
OH and don't forget MY docs... that dumps into the roaming profile also.
I hate it. Dumbest thing they ever did. SO I use folder redir to move it
to a network home dir.

So I have to ask, if the Home Directory houses the effective windows
directory, what good does setting the roaming profile in the Terminal
Server
profile path do? What would everyone suggest I do?

I think that's kindof weird. Enve if you have a roaming profile if you
have a home dir the Windows Dir should be created in there.=3D3D20
Check out the following variables when this is not in the home dir
%homedrive% %homedir%

Home Directory is set to their Network home directory.
After recreating it several times, I now have a windows directory in his
roaming profile again, but the INI's in it are not being used, ONLY FOR
THIS
ONE PERSON. This is crazy. I have 15 other people on that box, and
they
are all fine, heck I have 100 on that apps. servers and they are all
fine.

For the second time, I have a roaming profile that will not create a
Windows
directory, which is where we store the INI's for a couple of programs.
It was there, I changed the INI, it copied down to the server it was
running
the program from, but it did not use that INI. I deleted the roaming
profile and allowed it to recreate itself, which it did, yet it
recreated
with no Windows directory.
I can create a brand new user, and that creates a WINDOWS directory, no
trouble.
Thoughts?
